One of a Kind

Connor Wright is on a mission to spread kindness. In 2021, Connor, then 12, saw how lonely many kids were during the Covid pandemic.

“I wanted to do something to help,” he explains.

So Connor and his grandmother began making care packages for kids. They handed them out in and around his hometown of Lynnfield, Massachusetts. It wasn’t long before Connor and his grandmother wanted to do even more.

In January 2023, they started the Kids Kindness Club for students in elementary schools. Kids are asked to take a pledge to do 20 thoughtful things. The acts can include making someone laugh or donating a used book.

Nearly 40 schools have joined the club so far. About 15,000 kids have taken the pledge. They have completed more than 300,000 acts of kindness!

Connor says even small efforts can change someone’s day.

“Holding a door for someone may seem like it doesn’t make a difference,” he says. “But it goes a long way.”
